Around the Moon Productions is an independent film production company founded by rising actor / producer Monique Fisher. Born out of a desire to make bold and unique stories that champion distinct and unique visions, Around the Moon brings together seasoned artists and emerging visionaries to create works that appeal to both a local and global audience.
Under her label Around the Moon, Monique produced debut thriller feature film SLANT (2023) starring Sigrid Thornton, Pia Miranda, Kate Lister, Shannon Berry and Elle Mandalis (selected as a breakout feature at 37 Degrees South Film Market, as part of Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) 2022, Best Australian Feature at Monster Fest, Melbourne 2022 and nominated for Australian Directors Guild Award 2023). SLANT was theatrically released across Australia in 2023 followed by a digital release on SBS on Demand, Apple TV and Amazon Prime in the US, Europe and UK. Monique has since produced short films and feature films across the drama, horror and thriller space, including LACERATE (2023), starring highly acclaimed Robyn Nevin (selected for Flicker Fest, Ariano International 2024) and ROTTEN, micro indie horror feature written and directed by Phoenix Raei due for release in 2026.
Monique has three feature film projects on her slate at various stages of development across the UK and Australia, one of which is being supported with development funding from Screen Australia.
Monique’s screen credits include features films THE LATCHER (James Hunter) and TIM WINTON’S THE TURNING (Arena Media) and series NEIGHBOURS (Working Dog), DEAD GORGEOUS (BBC). Monique also produced and performed in a sold out and acclaimed season of Oscar-winning writer Kenneth Lonergan’s theatre production LOBBY HERO at Forty-Five Downstairs, Melbourne Australia and worked on feature film The Rooster starring Hugo Weaving.
Monique is currently being mentored by senior screen executive Sally Caplan (MIFF board member, and Ex BFI Head of Premiere Fund & Head of Production, Screen Australia), through the Screen Australia and Women in Film and Television program.
