Charles Grounds as

JEFF

Charles Grounds is a Melbourne born and Sydney raised Actor who has recently worked on ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ for Warner Brothers and Shannon Murphy’s Feature film ‘Babyteeth’. This year Charles has jumped back in the swing of Mentorships, training with Larry Moss, Iain Sinclair and Ian Rickson. The last few years have presented exciting film opportunities for Charles having starred in ‘Camp’ for NBC and the Australian Feature Film ‘Downriver’. Recent Short film credits include ‘A Birthday Party’ ’Why Ryan Is on Detention’ 'Two Devils' and ‘House In Order’ by Luke Wissell (post-production).

This will be the first time Charles has been on stage since his performance as Jack in ‘Helicopter’ for the Melbourne Theatre Company.

Monique Fisher as

DAWN/

Monique is best known for her feature film debut ‘Tim Winton’s The Turning’ (Arena Media) and her series regular role on Dead Gorgeous (Burberry Productions, ABC/BBC).  Last year, she performed in a sold-out and extended season of the two-hander 'Chemistry' at the Alex Theatre St Kilda which received glowing reviews. Monique undertook her training with 16th Street and in New York at the Susan Batson Studio. She has studied under world-renowned acting coaches including Larry Moss, Elizabeth Kemp, Carl Ford and Susan Batson.

Monique is also the Artistic Director of the newly founded ‘Around the Moon Productions’ and is excited that she is able to work with such a talented team on Lobby Hero, the company’s’ premiere production.

Victory Ndukwe as

WILLIAM

A lover of the theatre stage, victory is vibrant and charismatic with a flair for entertaining. Victory undertook his training at 16th Street Acting Studio where he worked with master teachers like Chris Edmund, Elizabeth Kemp and Justin Lehmann. He has featured in theatre productions such as the critically acclaimed and well-received production of ‘Mr Burns’ which was brought back by popular demand for a second season after a sold out first season, He starred in ‘The flick’ as Avery, he was in ‘Festen’ which was staged at the iconic Rippon Lea Estate and produced by Play Dead Theatre.

A native Melbournian who’s travels have taken him all over the world, Victory’s grasp of the human condition allows him to embody characters in a truly authentic way that is a delight to watch.

Ryan Murphy as

BILL

Ryan is a passionate and talented actor on screen and stage and has recently completed work on the feature film The Unlit, directed by Kate Whitbread. He was part of the cast of Summer and Smoke by Tennessee Williams, alongside John Wood and Blazing Arrow Media’s new improvised feature film Maybe Tomorrow (Winner Best Film Gold Coast Film Festival). Most recently Ryan completed finished playing Lady Bracknell for Artefact Theatre Company's The Importance of Being Earnest to rave reviews.

His work as a creative has spanned across theatre and film, with some early success. Notable credits include In The Wake (Director, Producer, Script Supervisor), Pillars (Director, Producer, Actor, Script Supervisor), Rabbit (Producer) and Airgirl (Producer).

James Vinson

DIRECTOR

James is a director and writer with a professional background in television. His recent script department credits include Foxtel’s longest running series Wentworth, as well as the critically acclaimed Netflix/ABC co-production Glitch. He has also gained international recognition for his short films, spanning Best Film at Lionshead Film Festival, Best Foreign Short at Joy House Film Festival, Best Sketch in Australia’s Funniest Shorts, and official selection for Burbank International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Shortfest, and the Cannes Short Film Corner.

Artistically, James has felt a personal affinity with Kenneth Lonergan’s writing both on the stage and screen for many years, and is thrilled for Lobby Hero to be his theatre-directing debut.

Juliette Whitney

SET DESIGNER

Juliette is a set and costume designer who journeys through imaginary worlds with artists, designers and directors led by hand drawn sketches through the use of three dimensional modelling.

Juliette has completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Production) majoring in Design Realisation at The Victorian College of the Arts. Her credits include: night, Mother, _CONTROL, Chemistry, Speak of the Devil, Doughnuts (un)REALITIES and GROUPNESS. She has been fortunate enough to work with Melbourne Theatre Company, Malthouse Theatre, The Rabble and Bangarra Dance Theatre. Her most recent work include Lazarus (The Production Company).  

Juliette was awarded the Cassidy Bequest Scholarship and has had the opportunity to work at Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Alice Wilson

COSTUME DESIGNER

Alice Wilson is a Melbourne based costume designer. Her works have been featured at Cannes Film Festival, Burbank International Film Festival and Palm Springs International Shortest. She has studied stage costume design studied in London, Paris and Melbourne.

Having worked almost exclusively in film up until now, Alice is very excited to design for the stage, her most loved medium.

Albert Salt

MUSIC COMPOSER

Albert Salt is a contemporary musician based in Melbourne. Praised for his 'innate ability to transcend' genres (AAABackstage, 2017), the classically trained Salt produces a cryptic, equivocal sound - giving full control of interpretation and classification to the listener. Albert was a Triple J Unearthed High finalist in 2011 and performed in the Parklife Festival of the same year. He has toured with Client Liaison and supported a range of artists, including Kele, Boy & Bear, Jinja Safari, Harts, Safia, Cut off Your Hands, Owl Eyes and Julia Stone.

Albert and has been a close collaborator with director James Vinson over the last decade and will continue there work together in ‘Lobby Hero’.

Jackie Mates

STAGE/PRODUCTION MANAGER

Jackie graduated from The Victorian College of the Arts in 2017. She is thrilled to be working with Around The Moon Productions on Lobby Hero. 

Some recent credits include; Ghost Quartet(Antipodes Theatre Co) Pomona, Escaped Alone, Lovesong, Antipodes (Red Stitch Actors Theatre), Mr Burns: A Post-Electric Play, Venus In Fur (Lightning Jar Theatre), West Side Story (GWB Entertainment), Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire: Live Concert Series, Stravinsky’s Firebird (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra), Die Meistersinger Von Nuremburg, La Traviata (Opera Australia), Cinderella, Spartacus (The Australian Ballet), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Queensland Ballet).

Lachlan McLean

LIGHTING DESIGNER

Lachlan is an emerging Melbourne based lighting designer. Lachlan’s professional credits include Philtrum (North of Eight), Ross & Rachel (Spinning Plates Co), Strata Inc. (North of Eight), The Trial of Dorian Gray (Bitten by Productions), The Will to Be (Melbourne Fringe) and You Are The Blood (Spinning Plates Co.). Lachlan has worked as a technician on The Antipodes, Sweet Phoebe, Escaped Alone, (Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre). Lachlan interned with Niklas Pajanti on Dust (Dancenorth) and A View From the Bridge (MTC).

Connor Ross

SOUND DESIGNER

Connor Ross is a sound designer, composer and musician who focuses on space and auditory textures in his creative practice. With an ongoing focus on ambisonic and surround sound use in theatre, installations and music production, Connor’s work emphasises immersion within worlds. Some of his recent theatrical credits have included work on: Lake Disappointment (Dir. Gavin Rach, Melbourne Fringe, 2019); My Wife Peggy (Dir. Gavin Roach, Gasworks Premiere, 2019); We Were There (Dir. Dirk Hoult, Tilted Projects, 2018); Macbeth (Dir. Simon Phillips, Melbourne Theatre Company, 2017).

Isabella Ferrier

PHOTOGRAPHER

Isabella is an up and coming photographer with a keen eye for capturing perfectly timed moments. A woman of many talents, she is currently studying Neuroscience, whilst working in the Department of Health and Human Services of the Victorian State Government. In her young photography career, her work has already gained much attention and she is very excited to be included in her first professional exhibition ‘Marvelous Melbourne' later this year. A year of firsts, Isabella is also a writer and after recently shooting her first short film, she is very excited to be involved in her first live theatre production.
